Social media has evolved into the main source of information for many people world wide. Understanding the rapid changes involved in this technology, including costs, uses, and legal constraints is a requisite for today's local government professionals; yet many local government managers, and their key staff, have not been able to devote time to understanding even the basics of how social media is/can be used for their agencies and for their own professional benefit.
